I read an interesting post about dashboards, and more importantly how they are used in the military.
The overall idea is that :
- You want to mix result (output) and predictors (process control) in your dashboard ;
- You want to get the actions that are currently being worked on ;
- You should cycle through indicators once in a while and constantly re-assess if you are looking at the right thing.
And then, I saw an interesting tweet from JCS, the founder of Alan, asking what the dashboard of a given country should be. Interesting question.
Here is my take :
- Split of the budget versus estimate ;
- Happiness ;
- Crime ;
- Homeless ;
- Infant distress ;
- Innovation.
Time to build.
